\"\"Diese Woche findet der Nakba Tag statt. Zum ersten Mal werde von den Combatants for Peace eine \u00f6ffentliche\u00a0Veranstaltung<\/a>\u00a0dazu stattfinden.<\/p>\n

Am Donnerstag der 14.5 um 20:00 (MEZ)<\/strong> werden die CfP den 72. Jahrestag der Pal\u00e4stinensischen Nakba als Broadcast-Zeremonie begehen, die live (mit\u00a0Englischer \u00dcbersetzung)\u00a0\u00fcbertragen wird, in der Pal\u00e4stinenser*innen und Israelis Zeugenberichte von 1948 vortragen werden. Um 21:00 Uhr (MEZ) <\/strong>werden wir uns\u00a0\u00fcber Zoom treffen, um die Geschichten von zwei Pal\u00e4stinensischen Familien zu h\u00f6ren und mit den Teilnehmer*innen zu sprechen. <\/p>\n

Die Entscheidung der CfP diese Veranstaltung zu halten, gr\u00fcndet auf vielen Gespr\u00e4chen und Diskussionen, die in den letzten Jahren gehalten wurden und die Notwendigkeit unterstrichen, Raum f\u00fcr die pers\u00f6nlichen Geschichten zu schaffen, die mit der Nakba von 1948 zusammenh\u00e4ngen. Viele der Pal\u00e4stinensischen Mitglieder der Combatants for Peace sind seit 1948 Fl\u00fcchtlinge.\u00a0Aufgrund unseres Engagements den israelisch-pal\u00e4stinensische Konflikt und die Besatzung zu beenden, finden wir es wichtig, die Pal\u00e4stinensischen Geschichten der Nakba anzuh\u00f6ren und auch Geh\u00f6hr zu schaffen.<\/p>\n

Eure\u00a0Teilname ist wichtig f\u00fcr uns alle – f\u00fcr die Pal\u00e4stinenser*innen und Israelis der CfP, die gemeinsam diese Veranstaltung produziert haben.<\/p>\n

This week the Nakba is commemorated. The Nakba (in English the Catastrophe) is the Arabic term for the events which took place in 1948 when more than half a million Palestinians were displaced from their homeland as a result of the creation of the new State of Israel. Combatants for Peace will for the first time observe this day as a public event. This Thursday May 14th, we will mark the 72nd year since the Palestinian Nakba in a broadcast ceremony beginning at 9:00 pm (Israel\/Palestine time). During the ceremony Palestinians and Israelis will speak and present testimonies from 1948. Thursday May 14th 20:00 CET (Berlin). The event will be broadcast on FACEBOOK LIVE STREAM and on YOUTUBE: <\/strong>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_tONIlwZKQI<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

After the event the public will be invited to join, via Zoom, two Palestinian families and other participants to listen to personal stories and engage in an open discussion. Translation to English and Hebrew will be available. Link: zoom.cfpeace.com<\/a>
\nWe decided to hold this event following many conversations that took place over the past few years. These discussions stressed the need to hear personal stories related to the Nakba. Many of the members of Combatants for Peace are refugees, and, indeed, the refugee problem is central to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as is the Occupation. Out of our commitment to end the conflict, we feel it is important to open our ears and hearts, to hear the Palestinian narrative. The Nakba is an important part of this story. We are confident in our ability to listen; our movement was founded on listening. We have learned that hearing and acknowledging personal stories is the basis for seeing \u201cthe other\u201d as an equal, in one\u2019s full humanity.<\/p>\n
